Roles & Permissions
Built-in roles determine what a member can do in a workspace and its spaces.
| Role | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Owner | Govern the workspace, billing, and critical administration |
| Administrator | Manage members, spaces, integrations, and operational settings |
| Editor | Create and edit tasks and data |
| Operator | Run tasks, approve work, and handle failures |
| Viewer | Review configuration and results without editing |
| Guest | Participate only in assigned spaces |
Effective permission combines the member’s role, space assignment, and enabled features. Ask an owner or administrator when an expected action is not shown.
Assignment practices
- Keep more than one owner, but limit the total number.
- Use administrator for daily administration instead of owner access.
- Use editor for task builders and operator for run or approval work.
- Use viewer for read-only review.
- Use guest for external collaborators and limit their spaces.
- Review memberships and roles regularly.
Pro workspaces may support custom roles. See Pro & Administration.
