Roles & Permissions

Built-in roles determine what a member can do in a workspace and its spaces.

OwnerGovern the workspace, billing, and critical administration
AdministratorManage members, spaces, integrations, and operational settings
EditorCreate and edit tasks and data
OperatorRun tasks, approve work, and handle failures
ViewerReview configuration and results without editing
GuestParticipate only in assigned spaces

Effective permission combines the member’s role, space assignment, and enabled features. Ask an owner or administrator when an expected action is not shown.

Assignment practices

  • Keep more than one owner, but limit the total number.
  • Use administrator for daily administration instead of owner access.
  • Use editor for task builders and operator for run or approval work.
  • Use viewer for read-only review.
  • Use guest for external collaborators and limit their spaces.
  • Review memberships and roles regularly.
